February 11 2020

Faculty from across the region will facilitate hands on training for the regional Core Surgical Trainees, using fresh-frozen cadaveric tissue.

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Open Inguinal Hernia Repair
  • Saphenofemoral Ligation
  • Stoma formation
  • Bowel Anastomosis & Gastro-Jejunostomy
  • Laparoscopic Skills (e.g.Cholecystectomy and Appendectomy)
  • Laparotomy

This course is only available to East of  England Trainees.  (A £100.00 holding fee is required, and will be returned on attendance)

Research, Audit and Quality Improvement Day - East of England Core Surgical Training

Free to East of England Trainees (A £50.00 holding fee is required, and will be returned on attendance)

All trainees are expected to produce an abstract (in Word format) of no more than 150 words excluding the title and list of authors. Deadline for abstract submission is 25th May 2020 to lisa.jackson@nnuh.nhs.uk.  Results of abstract submission will be issued on 3rd June 2020.  The writers of the top scoring abstracts will be invited to give a podium presentation on 29th June 2020.  The remaining authors will be invited to produce and present an A2 poster.
