The MTI scheme is designed to enable International Medical Graduates to enter the UK to train and develop in the NHS for up to two years before returning to their country of origin. 

The mutual benefits include the MTI doctors being offered the same learning and educational opportunities as UK trainees in return for much needed service provision and the NHS benefiting from MTI trainees' experience and expertise.
