The region offers Core Medical Trainees complimentary PACES courses intermittently throughout the year, procedural courses and simulation courses and 4 regional study days per year.
CMT Mock PACES
In order to help core medical trainees prepare for the PACES examination, the School has commissioned a programme of Mock PACES training courses. Our aim is for Mock PACES training courses to be delivered on two sites before each diet of PACES, ideally on opposite sides of the Region in order to minimise participants’ travelling time. These courses are extremely popular so please apply for a course only if you are taking PACES in that diet and if you are committed to attend
The currently planned Mock PACES courses are as follows for HEE East of England trainees only and priority will be given to trainees sitting PACES on the corresponding PACES diet.

CMT Simulation Courses
The School of Medicine has funded places for all of the core medical trainees in the Region to undergo a one day simulation course based around acute medical scenarios. The feedback from previous courses has been excellent and all core medical trainees should do their very best to attend what is a rewarding experience which will help prepare them to be medical registrars.
We expect you all to arrange the necessary study leave and book a place as soon as you can. For information about the availability of places or to book, please visit the Core Medical Training Booking System hosted by The University of Hertfordshire for all four venues (Addenbrooke's, Basildon Hospital (BTUH), University of Hertfordshire and James Paget).

There are 4 regional CMT study days per year. Trainees are expected to attend at least 50% of these over the 2 year period. For catering, capacity and costing purposes, trainees must register in advance. If they subsequently find out that they are unable, trainees must contact the study day administrator Sarah Munro so that we can avoid unnecessary wastage of catering costs.
