Basildon Rotations
IMTs (1&2) rotate through six specialties at four monthly intervals. IM3 rotate through two specialties at 6 monthly intervals.
The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre (CTC) is based on the Basildon Hospital site. Although there are no IMT placements in the CTC, the DGH teams are frequently asked to provide specialist opinions in the centre and the tertiary cardiology team deliver specific lectures to IMTs.

Study and Training
Access to Medical Masterclass is provided to facilitate study for Parts 1 and 2 of the MRCP examination. There is a programme of dedicated bleep-free IMT teaching, PACES teaching and the Trust hosts the PACES examination and Mock PACES on an annual basis. Audit is encouraged and supported by a Directorate Audit Lead. Basildon also hosts regional procedural skills and COMETS-style courses for IMTs.
