Ipswich 

Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust is a large single campus district general hospital located on the edge of the county town of Suffolk which has good road and rail transport links with London (just over an hour by train) and beyond. Ipswich is surrounded by pleasant countryside with the Suffolk Heritage coast within easy reach. 

The hospital covers a population of 350,000 and has all the main medical specialties represented. Facilities include a new state of the art block containing A&E and critical care services, a purpose built dialysis centre, diagnostic cardiac catheterisation, and well equipped diagnostic imaging facilities. The hospital offers a full range of support facilities including an excellent library and postgraduate centre. Weekly teaching based on the needs of the e-portfolio and MRCP is arranged in addition to the regular hospital meetings such as grand rounds.

A number of courses e.g. ALS are offered locally.

Ipswich has an excellent reputation for offering high quality medical experience and training in a friendly and supportive environment. We offer varied and balanced rotations based on 4 month attachments with opportunities to gain experience on specialist wards and out-patient clinics with on call experience in a purpose built emergency assessment unit. We try to ensure experience in the major medical specialties as well as some more specialist experience in departments such as neurology, nephrology, oncology and rheumatology.

The RCP college tutors are Dr Brian Camilleri and Dr Praveen Ande the associate college tutor for 2018 to 2019 is Dr Dave Bawden.
