The Norfolk Internal Medical Training Rotation IM1 and IM2 years will consist of six four month posts in specialties including Intensive Care Medicine, Acute Medicine, Medicine for the Elderly, Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Renal Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Neurology, Haematology, Oncology, and Rehabilitation Medicine. The majority of trainees will spend one year in Norwich and the other year at either the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn or the James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth.

Norwich:

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital opened in a new state-of-the-art building in 2001 and has close links to the Norwich Medical School at the University of East Anglia. The Trust provides secondary and tertiary services to a population of around 850,000 and all acute specialties are represented with the exception of Cardiac Surgery and Neurosurgery, exposing trainees to a wide range of clinical experience.

Individual departments organise educational events; in addition to these, hospital-wide training activities (including the weekly Medical Grand Round and weekly teaching for Core Medical Trainees) are coordinated by NANIME (The Norfolk and Norwich Institute for Multi-Professional Education). There is also a dedicated MRCP Tutor providing teaching for MRCP Part 2 and PACES. NNUH has put in a bid to host 4 separate Mock PACES courses each year in the Trust.
