Visa Information

 

To work as a psychiatrist in the UK, you have to be registered with the General Medical Council with a license to practice. There are different routes for registration which you can find in the link below:

Health Education England provides a Restricted Certificate of Sponsorship to overseas doctors who have been successfully accepted into a training post. This enables trainees to apply for a Tier 2 Visa. Please make sure you read the full guidance before applying for a visa:

It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet all the eligibility criteria before applying. Please bear in mind that Health Education England does not provide maintenance.

 

If you are looking into joining the MTI scheme, the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges offers Certificates of Sponsorship for overseas doctors who have been successfully accepted into the scheme. This enables them to apply for a Tier 5 Visa.  Please make sure you read the full guidance before applying for a visa:
