Returning - what can you access from NHSE EoE Supported Return to Training (SuppoRTT)?  

At any point in your time out journey, you may find you need some additional support to help you move forward. Understanding what type of support you require is the first step to finding the right person/service to help you. Below are a few suggestions of who to approach based on the type of support you may need.

These may be areas that you may need to support when you are planning on returning to the workplace:

  • Emotional and psychological support
  • Personal and professional development
  • Career and professional skills
  • Job planning and training related support
  • Return to work planning

The Supported Return to Training (SuppoRTT) Initiative aims to ensure all returners are clinically confident and fully supported when returning to training following a sustained period of absence. NHSE East of England (EoE) is committed to offering a number of opportunities in order to support the return to clinical practice including: structured planning, enhanced shadowing and access to additional funding for courses. In order to access the services below, except workshops, you must have submitted a SuppoRTT Plan. If you have any questions regarding the information below, please do not hesitate to contact the EoE SuppoRTT team

We are able to provide direct access to:

  • Coaching - up to 3 sessions with a qualified coach
  • Resilient Leadership Platform - an 8 week programme
  • Emotional Intelligence screening and support - complete a report and discuss with an EQi Practitioner the results
  • Psychological Support may also be discussed but would need a discussion to referral - up to 6 sessions available

  • BMA – reduction in fees
  • Royal colleges may offer reduction in subscription
  • GMC offers reduction in fees if on low income
  • Medical Defence will allow you to pause but remember to restart when returning
