Emotional Intelligence Testing (EQ-i)

Emotional Intelligence measures a set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we:

  1. Perceive and express ourselves
  2. Develop and maintain social relationships
  3. Cope with challenges
  4. Use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way.

The skills that make up the EQ-i 2.0 model of emotional intelligence form the building blocks of abilities such as communication, resilience, and time management and can be mapped theoretically and empirically to job competencies, productivity, academic performance, and other measures of success to help predict and improve functioning.

From April 2022, the PSW will be able to offer emotional intelligence testing and support for trainees to gain insight into their personality and behaviour in the workplace.

In order to access support in this area, trainees are required to undertake an online screening questionnaire and then will book a session with a trained Emotional Intelligence Practitioner.

Following this process, they will be provided with a written report in addition to verbal feedback in order to create an action plan that they can implement in their day to day.

To access this support, the PSW require a referral. All referrals can be found here: How to Refer to the PSW

We are also offering Developing Emotional Intelligence Workshops. Click on the link below for more details.

Please contact england.psw.eoe@nhs.net if you have any questions.
