Core Trainees - Primary FRCA Dates:

The focus is on preparation for the Primary FRCA examination.

Teaching is organised by the various regional hospitals on the 2nd Wednesday of every month

The region is split into three areas for regional teaching to reduce travelling.

North = Kings Lynn, Norwich, James Paget, Ipswich and West Suffolk.

South = Colchester, Southend, Basildon, Mid Essex and Princess Alexandra.

West = Bedford, Luton, Watford, Stevenage and Peterborough.

Intermediate Trainees - Final FRCA Dates:

The focus is on preparation for the Final FRCA examination.

Core trainees who have passed the Primary FRCA examination should start to attend these teaching sessions.

Exam orientated teaching is provided by a day-release course throughout the year.

Prior to the COVID-19 disruptions, this comprised all-day teaching on alternate Tuesdays shared between Cambridge and Norwich (occasional days hosted by a DGH).

Twice a year, before each sitting of the examination, there is a FRCA revision course, alternating between Cambridge and Norwich.

After the success of the FRCA, there are study days arranged around the region on a monthly basis (except change-over and holiday periods) focusing on topics of interest to senior trainees eg management, preparation for consultant interviews.
