Regional Teaching Programme

Stage 1 Training

 

Primary FRCA Teaching Schedule (for the North Zone). 
Primary FRCA Teaching Schedule (for the West Zone).
Primary FRCA Teaching Schedule from March 2026 (for the West Zone).
Primary FRCA Teaching Schedule (for the South Zone).
Primary FRCA Teaching Schedule from March 2026 (for the South Zone).

 

  • Monthly regional teaching days consisting of virtual and face-to-face days with a focus on the Primary FRCA curriculum

  • For face-to-face sessions, the region is split into three areas for regional teaching to reduce travelling - attend the most convenient location for you:

    North = Kings Lynn, Norwich, James Paget, Ipswich and West Suffolk.

    South = Colchester, Southend, Basildon, Mid Essex and Princess Alexandra.

    West = Bedford, Luton, Watford, Stevenage and Peterborough.

Stage 2 Training

 

Final FRCA Teaching Schedule for 2025 - 2026
  • Monthly regional teaching days consisting of virtual and face-to-face days with a focus on Final FRCA preparation

  • Book on to Stage 2 Simulation Courses

  • Subscribe to the Final FRCA Regional Teaching Calendar (get the available dates onto your device Calendar including Bridge links)

  • Core trainees who have passed the Primary FRCA are welcome to attend these sessions. Contact Chris Beynon (c.beynon2@nhs.net) to move on to the Final FRCA teaching programme and amend Bridge intake to "Final"

 


Stage 3 Training

 

Post-FRCA Teaching Schedule From April 2025

All trainees who (regardless of stage) have passed the Final FRCA examination should attend these teaching sessions.

  • The Post FRCA regional teaching days are aimed at helping anaesthetists in training manage the transition into the consultant role. The programme will cover a range of clinical of clinical and non-clinical topics
  • Topics are based on the RCOA Stage 3 Curriculum special interest areas and generic professional capabilities

  • Please contact Chris Beynon (c.beynon2@nhs.net) to move on to the Post FRCA teaching programme and amend Bridge intake to "Post"
