Workforce, training and education
East of England

Our aim is to develop an excellent 60 hours taught programme that truly meets the needs of our foundation trainees. This is to enhance Foundation training but it also supports future careers plans for core/higher/run through training by offering something new and exciting.

In line with the new EoE 60 Hours Taught Programme Each trainee will book 3 x 1/2 day hub events as part of their generic training in both F1 and F2 and will be encouraged to sign up from 6th Aug 2025 ( when booking will open up) . Two half day sessions should be clinical and the other should be non-clinical or relate to professionalism.

We hope that our trainees will meet higher trainees and enthusiastic educators in specialties that they have a particular interest in and may choose to continue their training in the East of England.

All booking links for our hubs can be found on the master spreadsheet that you can download from this webpage.  Please make sure you book onto the correct hubs that are within the sub-region you are working in.  If you book onto another sub-region your booking will be cancelled.  You can also book onto the central hubs but again please make sure you pick up the correct booking form.

Please note your booking is an expression of interest and your confirmed booking will be emailed to you. Once a space is offered to you it is your responsibility to apply for study leave.  If for any reason you can no longer attend a hub you are booked on you will need to inform the organisers of this hub so that they can offer your space to someone else.  Please be aware any non-attendance at booked hubs without informing the organisers is taken seriously and you will be aske to meet up with your FTPD and upload a reflection on your e-portfolio as this is all part of professionalism.

Please can we ask that you do not sign up for more than 2x Clinical and 1x non Clinical hub - if you do you will block other trainees opportunities to register. We will offer any gaps at a later date as study leave opportunities.

If you have any queries please see your PGME administrator who can help and support you and also put you in touch with the Education Hub Champion working within your sub-region.  You can also email out central team on papworth.regionalhubs@nhs.net
