The session will delve into key concepts such as the Maslach Burnout Inventory and compassion fatigue, offering practical tools and discussion. Attendees will also learn about the Window of Tolerance Model, an approach to managing stress and maintaining professional sustainability. Through reflection and interactive discussions, the webinar will provide strategies for fostering self-care, emotional wellbeing, and long-term career satisfaction in a high-demand profession.

Overview: This will be a practical workshop aimed at supporting trainers and TPDs who manage trainees who have performance concerns. The workshop will be based on case studies, with plenty of opportunity for interaction, questions, and answers. The workshop will focus on practical tips for supporting trainees, from recognising early warning signs through to the management of complex cases and challenging outcomes. Some of the findings from the work undertaken by the Professional Support and Wellbeing Service will be shared and provide a reminder of the services available to support trainees.

Influencing with Impact, 5 February 2025

Overview: Influencing takes place daily - with the patients and their families that you support, the colleagues and senior professionals that you engage with or other external organisations that you work with. Being able to influence others isn’t something that comes easily to us all. There are approaches and ideas that will enable you to think differently about what you do and how to adapt your style according to the situation and environment that you are in.

By the end of this session, you will:

-          Discover your own natural influencing style and how you can use this knowledge to enhance your influencing and negotiating skills in the workplace

-          Appreciate how the context, audience and content means that you require a range of approaches

-          Preparing and planning and adopting some of the techniques learnt will help to expand your skills and confidence.
