What roles are available at HEE?

HEE EoE primarily recruit clinical staff to roles such as Associate Dean, Head of School and Training Programme Director. The majority of these are secondments for a fixed period of time (3+3 years), but please ensure you review the job description for the role you are applying for thoroughly, as this can vary. All vacancies are advertised on HEE jobs and NHS jobs, so please check these sites regularly for updates.

What is the role of an Associate Dean?

Associate Deans generally work on project/areas to either improve or implement new workforce solutions, which are designed to support the continued development of Health Education England (HEE). The roles are focused firmly upon improving patient and learner safety and experience, and ensuring effective educational outcomes.

Examples of areas Associate Deans may lead on are:

  • Faculty Development
  • Leadership and Management
  • Simulation Training
  • Professional Support and Well-being (PSW)
  • Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs)

The role can be varied, and it is important to understand the requirement of the role you are applying for by reviewing the job description thoroughly and discussing HEE’s expectations during your interview.

If your application is shortlisted by the panel you will be contacted via the email address you provided on your application and invited to interview. Due to the current circumstances (covid-19), all interviews will be taking place virtually using a video conferencing platform such as zoom or Microsoft Teams.

In preparation for this, please ensure your location has a strong internet connection prior and if you haven’t used the video conferencing platform before, it is advisable to test this beforehand.

The panel will ask you a set of questions and discuss the role with you, which you will then be notified of the outcome via telephone, followed by written email confirmation.
