Hospital Posts on the Programme

The hospital component of GP Training takes place within the newly built (2010) 600 bed Peterborough City Hospital. The hospital has a learning Centre with 160 seat Lecture Theatre, Clinical Skills Laboratory and Medical Education Library.

GP Registrars will be able to gain experience in the many of following departments:

General Medicine

  • Respiratory
  • Gastroenterology
  • Endocrinology
  • Cardiology

Medicine for the Elderly

  • General
  • Stroke
  • Rehabilitation

A&E

Paediatrics

Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Psychiatry
 
In addition to four monthly posts in some of the above, GPRs will be able to spend clinic time attached to specific departments as part of their ST2 & ST3 GP attachment. These include:

  • Community Paediatrics
  • Gynaecology
  • G.U. Medicine
  • Dermatology
  • ENT
  • Ophthalmology
  • Palliative Care (hospice based)
  • Rheumatology
