Trainee Resources

There are a number of local and regional resources to assist with training.

An Infectious Diseases handbook outlines how the department runs and has a myriad of invaluable information and up to date links to local and national guidelines.  This will be given to you at departmental induction and is a good first port of call for any issues that you experience within Infectious Diseases. Similarly Microbiology and Virology have a medical staff and reporting room handbook, in addition to online resources.

The infection specialties have a mentoring scheme sent up by Dr Lucy Rivett. When you join as a new starter you will be paired with a higher specialty trainee mentor for the duration of your training.

Teaching in the East of England, including regional training days, will increasingly be delivered and stored on an online training platform powered by Bridge & Panopto. More information about how the software works can be found in the Blended Learning Hub (https://heeoe.hee.nhs.uk/blended-learning-platform). You will be provided with your login details when you join as an East of England Trainee.

Below are links to other useful resources including to local and national virology guidelines, a list of conferences recommended by current trainees, a draft training log and links to guidance on ARCP.  There are also links on how to apply for less than full time training and resources to improve trainee wellbeing.
