Our Area

King’s Lynn is a historic port which was particularly prosperous during the 13th Century as a member of the Hanseatic League. (King’s Lynn was one of only two members of this league within the United Kingdom). Old parts of the town are still prominent and for those wishing to learn more there are excellent guided walking tours available. (We have previously taken advantage of one of these tours as part of our Induction Session).

ImageThe town has two theatres, museums and other cultural and sporting venues. There are three secondary schools and one college. The town has undergone a multimillion-pound regeneration scheme, including the Vancouver Quarter, a shopping precinct that has breathed new life into the town centre. The town has several public parks, including The Walks which is a 17 hectare urban park in the centre of King's Lynn and is the only surviving town walk in Norfolk from the 18th Century.
