My clinical interests are in occlusion and implantology but I enjoy all aspects of dentistry and I am still very proud to be a dentist after all my years in practice.
My work at the practice I and the London has brought an interest in dental education and I am undertaking a research degree in education as a part time postgraduate student.
I was never an FD myself as there were few places available when I graduated but I have always been an FD wannabe.
GDC Number: 251817
At Wedgwood House, I provide both private and NHS dental services, ensuring patients of all ages receive compassionate, high-quality care. I especially enjoy working with children, promoting good oral hygiene habits from a young age to set them up for lifelong dental health.
A highlight of my career so far has been when I had the opportunity to volunteer as a dentist for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, providing essential dental care to athletes from across the globe. Working behind the scenes of such a prestigious event, I was able to support competitors in maintaining peak oral health, ensuring they were in the best possible condition to perform at their highest level. The fast-paced environment and diverse patient needs made for an exciting and rewarding experience, reinforcing my passion for dentistry in high-performance settings. It was a privilege to contribute to such an inspiring event, and the experience further strengthened my commitment to delivering high-quality care in every aspect of my practice.
I look forward to welcoming new Foundation Trainees to our practice and supporting them as they refine their skills, build patient rapport, and develop confidence in their abilities as practitioners.

We have friendly and supportive staff who want to help you all the way to your final report (FRCP).
The practice is located in a street leading into the main part of the town within 10 minutes' walk of the station, but with the convenience of a rear car park if you drive.
Stowmarket is a large market town with about 25,000 inhabitants which includes the surrounding small villages. The town sits on the A14 road which links Birmingham to Felixstowe and the main Norwich to London railway.
A town market is held on Thursdays and Saturdays and we have local gyms, museums and places of interest. Cambridge and Norwich are within an hour's drive and London is 1 hour and 20 minutes away by train.
Rent is competitive at present but Ipswich is close by which is handy for attending the study days.
Stowmarket is full of people in need of dentistry and we are struggling to meet demand. You will be important in this small community.
This is our second year on Suffolk and North East Essex having been a member of the Norfolk and Waveney scheme for some years previously.
We strongly recommend networking with your new colleagues on the scheme to try and form friendship groups and to socialise with each other.
We choose to host two FDs at this practice and it appears to benefit both strongly. The support they provide each other goes well even though both traverse different paths over the year. In a tough year support is imperative to get you through.

In 2018, I decided to pursue a long-held ambition by acquiring a practice of my own. After considerable research and reflection, I chose Great Horkesley Dental Studio, where I have worked ever since.
In 2021, I was honoured to be appointed as an Educational Supervisor. That September, we welcomed our first Foundation Dentist.
My professional interests are broad and grounded in the principles of patient-centred care. I practise in a modern, multi-skilled general dental environment and find great satisfaction in supporting patients as they work towards improved oral health and aesthetic outcomes.
I am an experienced general dental practitioner, with a particular interest in endodontics (PGCert Endo), orthodontic treatments, and digital workflow dentistry. I am deeply committed to clinical excellence and continuing professional development.
It is a privilege to support and mentor early-career dentists. To play a role in a Foundation Dentist’s first professional post is both a responsibility and a pleasure. I look forward to passing on the knowledge and enthusiasm that have shaped my career.

Towards the end of 2024, the practice commenced a significant programme of refurbishment and expansion. This initiative was undertaken with the dual purpose of enhancing the patient experience and improving the efficiency of clinical delivery. The project is progressing according to plan and is scheduled for completion by July 2025; this will mark an important milestone in the continued development of the practice.
Once completed, the improved facilities will include:
-Five modern, fully equipped dental surgeries. Four will be located on the ground floor to improve accessibility; the fith, situated on the first floor, will be reserved for the Foundation Dentist. All surgeries will be equipped with Italian-engineered Stern-Weber dental chairs, as well as digital radiography units featuring intraoral sensors.
-Refurbished reception and waiting areas, along with upgraded patient lavatories; all designed to offer an improved and more comfortable experience.
-Enhanced sterilisation and decontamination suites, fully compliant with the most recent HTM 01-05 and HTM 07-01 standards.
-A purpose-built OPG suite, containing a MyRay high-performance digital panoramic unit.
-Improved staff amenities, including a dedicated kitchen, changing and locker facilities, and a staff toilet.
The practice operates a fully digital infrastructure. We utilise Carestack and Voicestack; these cloud-based, AI-supported practice management systems incorporate digital Clinipads for form completion and a secure Patient Portal.
Our clinical workflow is further enhanced by the use of Dentsply Sirona’s CEREC Primescan and Primemill units. These systems support a fully digital approach to restorative and orthodontic treatment, enabling same-day crowns, implant restorations, and orthodontic planning with increased accuracy and efficiency.
Our team is supported by a longstanding and committed group of professionals. This includes our practice manager, several experienced and qualified dental nurses, hygienists and a well-established front-of-house team. The head receptionist, who has been with us for over 18 years, with her team, continues to provide exceptional service to both patients and staff.
The final stage of development, to be completed by the end of 2025, will include a fifth surgery for Hygienist-led care, along with a Treatment Coordinator’s office. These additions will increase our clinical capacity, reduce waiting times, and ensure that we continue to meet the needs of a growing patient base. In doing so, we aim to future-proof the practice and maintain our commitment to dental care.
We are a well-established, busy mixed practice, serving a broad demographic from the local community. We actively encourage open communication among our clinical team and promote collaborative decision-making, particularly in the management of complex treatment plans.
The practice is located in the village of Great Horkesley, on the northern fringe of Colchester, Essex. Colchester holds the distinction of being England’s oldest recorded town, now formally recognised as a city.
The practice lies just two miles from the A12, which connects London to Ipswich, and is well served by public transport despite its rural setting.
A direct bus service from Colchester Railway Station stops just outside the practice, at Keeler’s Way.
Local amenities include the David Lloyd Fitness Centre and the nearby Northern Gateway complex, which features a Hollywood Bowl, along with facilities for rugby and cycling.
The surrounding region offers numerous attractions.
Coastal destinations such as Frinton-on-Sea, Walton-on-the-Naze, and Mersea Island are within easy reach. Mersea Island is particularly well known for its oysters, dog-friendly beaches, and colourful beach huts, which may be hired for the day.
For those who prefer the countryside, Dedham Vale-an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—lies nearby. It is widely known as Constable Country, named after the artist John Constable, whose painting The Hay Wain captures its distinctive charm.
Colchester City itself is diverse and vibrant, home to a multicultural population and a wide array of dining options. These range from familiar high street names such as Wagamama, Five Guys, and Motto Pizza, to independent restaurants offering cuisine from around the world.
