The GP placements are where our trainees fully develop into rounded GPs. We offer a three-year training programme in which 18 months is spent in general practice; we are developing the Scheme to include a further 6 months in an Innovative community placement.
Our GP posts take place in approved training practices linked to our Training Scheme.
A large practice based in a listed building opposite the ancient Abbey, in the historic centre of Bury St Edmunds. Also covers surrounding villages, with a patient list of approximately 15,000.

A rural village practice close to the Norfolk border, making access to Norwich easy.
Guildhall & Barrow Surgery
This surgery has modern premises and is based between the lively Market Square and Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds.
Long Melford Practice
Consists of two surgeries within the historic villages of Long Melford and Lavenham.
The Market Cross Surgery
This surgery is in an old building with a modern extension, within the large village of Mildenhall.
Mount Farm Surgery
A modern and well-equipped practice based in the Moreton Hall area of Bury St Edmunds, with a list of 13,500 urban and rural patients.
Orchard House Surgery
Housed in modern premises in the national headquarters of horse racing in Newmarket, half way between Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge. Provides care for 10,500 urban and rural patients.
School Lane Surgery
A busy practice twelve miles north of Bury serving the market town of Thetford and surrounding areas with a patient list of approximately 15,000.
Stowhealth
A large practice with 17,500 patients based in the busy market town of Stowmarket. The practice is part of Violet Hill House, which was developed to incorporate an integrated primary health care team.
