East of England
Integrated Care Dental Programme 2024-2025
The Integrated Care Dental Programme has been specifically created with the primary objective of developing and supporting post Foundation dentists while integrating their dental professional experience within the wider healthcare environment. There is the additional aim of retaining early years dentists within East of England where there are areas of unmet need, and where dental access and recruitment are of concern. The post aims to encourage the development of both dental clinical and non-dental skills within a variety of settings to support your development as a dentist and a leader.
.Members of the programme will have the opportunity to develop their clinical experience within a general dental practice setting and develop dental and non-dental transferrable skills within the differing areas of dentistry and the wider NHS health care sectors. This opportunity will be a fully funded post equivalent to that of DCT1 2024-2025. Employment will be with a Lead Employer NHS Trust and post holders will be allocated to placements in general dental practice and other clinical and non-clinical situations. The Programme will commence September 2nd 2024.
.This is an ideal opportunity for a highly motivated and adaptable dentist in the early years of their career to work in different environments, and to develop their understanding, knowledge, and skills of dental healthcare delivery.
.NHS England recognises the importance of maintaining clinical skills. Members of the programme will therefore be supported to develop their clinical dental practice with six to eight sessions per week of clinical activity within a pre-approved host general dental practice within specific areas of East of England.
.The remaining two to four sessions are for development placements, which may include: dental placements attached to the hosting practice across different disciplines; hospital or specialist practice placements; community placements; and non-clinical leadership development placements. A list of currently available placements will be made available to each member of the Programme, but the list is not exhaustive; other opportunities may be explored and taken up. The programme is unique in that it will have a degree of adaptability in supporting each post holder’s individual development.
