Arnie Dickin BSc(Hons) BDS MJDF RCS Eng PGCert Clin Ed
GDC Number: 155591

After completing my BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences in 2003 at the University of Newcastle, I qualified in dentistry, obtaining my BDS at Kings College London in 2008. My foundation dental training was at a practice under the East of England Essex Coast scheme, where I remained as a GDP and became an Educational Supervisor in 2014 for Foundation Dentists and Hygienists. In 2017 I moved to Riverside Dental Practice Bishops Stortford. During my years practicing and involved in dental education, I have throughly enjoyed all aspects of dentistry and education. My postgraduate studies have been based around restorative dentistry, with an interest in fixed and removable prosthodontics, minimal invasive dentistry including short term orthodontics to enhance restorative and aesthetic dentistry.
Outside of dentistry I enjoy spending time with my family, running and cycling, enjoying films and live music and have a passion for anything that has two wheels and / or an engine.

Dennis Gantzias DDS (Athens) PG Cert Dental Education
GDC Number: 80053

I qualified in Dentistry from Athens, Greece in 1999. Following graduation, I completed two years of service in the army as a dentist. Since 2001, I have worked as a full-time associate in the same dental practice, where I have built strong relationships with patients and colleagues over the years.

I have been a trainer with Neal since 2018, supporting and mentoring newly qualified dentists as they begin their careers.

I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry, with a particular interest in restorative dentistry. I also have a keen interest in oral surgery. To further enhance my skills, I have attended a range of short courses, including those focused on composite techniques and advanced restorative procedures. I am committed to continuous professional development and always strive to provide high-quality care to my patients.

Neal Mehta BDS Hons (Wales) PG Cert Dental Education PG Cert Dental Law & Ethics
GDC Number: 251134

I qualified as a dentist from Cardiff University in 2014. Since then, I have continually developed my clinical skills through a wide range of postgraduate courses, both short and long, covering all aspects of general dentistry.

In 2018, I became an Educational Supervisor alongside my colleague Dennis. Together, we have been involved in supporting and guiding Foundation Dentists through their early professional development. I am one of the principal dentists and co-owners of Lister House Dental Centre, a family-run practice with eight surgeries. Our practice is committed to high-quality patient care and the professional growth of our team.

Clinically, I provide a full range of general dental treatments, but I have a particular interest in oral surgery and implant dentistry, which I focus on within the practice. I also provide orthodontic treatment using aligner systems.

My passion lies in both patient care and mentoring new dentists, and I take great pride in helping Foundation Dentists build their confidence and clinical skills in a supportive and progressive environment.

Practice Address: Lister House Dental Centre, Abercrombie Way, Harlow, Essex. CM18 6YJ
Google Map Link

Description:
Lister House Dental Centre is a modern, family-run practice with 8 spacious and fully equipped surgeries (with plenty of free parking). Each surgery is designed to accommodate both left- and right-handed clinicians.

We are a mixed NHS and private practice, with a well-established and diverse patient base that provides a broad clinical experience for Foundation Dentists. The surgeries are fitted with high-quality, up-to-date equipment that is regularly maintained to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Our facilities include:
- Three digital intraoral scanners
- Microscope
- CBCT/OPG
- Digital radiography
- Rotary endodontic systems

In addition to general dental services, we have a visiting Restorative Specialist and a Special Interest Endodontist, providing additional learning opportunities and support for more complex cases.

Our team is experienced, supportive, and committed to providing an excellent learning environment for trainees, with a strong focus on clinical development and patient care.

Location:
Our practice is based in Harlow, a well-connected town in Essex with excellent transport links to London, Cambridge, and surrounding areas via road and rail. Harlow offers a mix of urban and green spaces, with a range of amenities including shopping centres, gyms, restaurants, and leisure facilities.

The town has a diverse population, providing a varied and well-rounded patient base that ensures exposure to a wide spectrum of dental needs. Good local schools, and easy access to countryside and city life make Harlow an attractive place to live and work, particularly for young professionals and families.

Other Points of Interest:
At Lister House Dental Centre, we’re proud to offer something a bit different from most practices in the area. We’re one of the only practices locally to have an in-house Restorative Specialist, with expertise in areas like periodontics and endodontics. This means our Foundation Dentist has the rare chance to observe and learn from advanced treatments - everything from periodontal therapy and complex re-root canal treatments to fractured file removal, implant placements, and oral surgery.

One of the things we value most here is collaboration. All our clinicians work closely together, regularly discussing cases and supporting each other. We hold regular clinician meetings and encourage open conversation across the team, including with our specialists, so there’s always someone to ask for help or advice.

Being a large, 8-surgery practice means there’s always someone around. We know dentistry can sometimes feel a bit isolating, especially in the early years, so we make sure there’s a strong support system in place. We’re also a family-run practice, and that really shapes the atmosphere here. We’re approachable, hands-on, and always around when you need us.

Living in Harlow is straightforward too. There’s a good mix of affordable accommodation nearby, and getting to and from London or Cambridge is easy, whether you drive or take the train.

Overall, we’ve created an environment that’s friendly, supportive, and full of opportunities to learn. If you’re looking for a practice where you’ll be well-supported, challenged, and made to feel part of the team from day one, we think you’ll feel right at home here.

Ronak Pandhi B.D.S. Hons. 2013 (King's College London), PGCert Dental Ed. 2019
GDC Number: 243988

ES since 2018 and clinical educator of trainee hygienists since 2017. I love teaching and always want to hear about the cutting edge development and knowledge you bring from University training.

Clinical interests include restorative dentistry and anterior aesthetics including provision of Invisalign orthodontics.

Being an ex FD of this same practice in the not too distant past (at least I keep thinking I'm that young!), I know the challenges and difficulties of starting in practice. I am often described by colleagues as a good and supportive listener - be it work or personal life.

Other interests include music, films, sports and especially travelling. Love a good road trip! Big geek at heart when it comes to history and science! I like to think I'm witty - FDs get extra points for laughing at my dad jokes!

Akshai Shah BDS from Kings College London (2013), PGcert Dental Education (University of Bedfordshire)
GDC Number: 244811

I have been an educational supervisor for foundation dentists since 2022 and clinical educator for trainee hygienists with the university of Essex since 2021. During this time I have greatly enjoyed teaching and passing all the knowledge and experience I have gained since graduating to the next generation of dentists and hygienists. I would like to think myself as approachable and patient and always ready to mentor and support FDs as they grow and develop themselves.

I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry, but have a clinical interest in aesthetic dentistry having done further training in this area.
Other Interests/hobbies include sports- be it watching or playing. I especially enjoy watching football, cricket, and formula one and play table tennis regularly. I also enjoy travelling, with holidays involving a road trip being my favourite.

The FD surgery is fully stocked with all the materials, equipment, and OHI tools etc that you may need during the year. There is a whole host of dental textbooks, journals etc for access.

What really matters to us is our ethos. We are genuinely very ethics focused and are big on patient education, prevention and quality. A friendly and happy atmosphere is very important to us which keeps staff and patients alike in great spirits. We pride ourselves on positivity and being warm! If you don't believe us - just check our our google reviews. Having a sense of humour and being a great team player really helps!

Hoddesdon is a diverse market town. It's growing massively with new accommodation being built all the time as well as a very large new TV/film studio just a few miles away. There's a nice mix of age groups, ethnicities and socio-economic groups for good all round experience. There are many new patients who've joined us in the last year but also even more who have been with us for over 20 years. They tend to be loyal!

Hoddesdon is just a few miles north of the M25 and easily accessible from Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and North London. And it's a great area to relocate to! We're lucky to have some amazing independent restaurants, shops and bakeries. Market day on Wednesday brings some really innovative fresh foods and drinks.

Description:
Chrysalis Dental Practice is a modern, 6-surgery mixed NHS/private practice in Goldington, which is near the town of Bedford. All surgeries are spacious, fully digital, and equipped with high-quality dental units, digital radiography, and access to an on-site CBCT scanner.

The team includes experienced associates, qualified nurses, hygienists, and a supportive admin team. The patient base is diverse and provides trainees with excellent exposure to a broad range of treatments in a busy, well-supported environment.

Location:
The dental practice is based in Goldington, a well-established area on the eastern side of Bedford, Bedfordshire. Goldington offers a welcoming and community-oriented environment, making it an ideal setting for both patients and dental professionals.

Goldington benefits from being part of the wider Bedford area, it has a range of amenities including supermarkets, local shops, schools, parks, and community centres, making it convenient for both residents and visitors. It provides a calm and stable patient base and a supportive local population.

There can be varying levels of access to specialist dental services, which means patients often rely heavily on general dental practices like ours for a wide range of treatments. This can create a busy and demanding workload, but also presents a great opportunity to make a significant impact within the community.

Goldington is well-served by schools, healthcare centres, sports and leisure facilities, and retail outlets. Bedford town centre, just a short distance away.

The local population is diverse in age and background, with a mix of long-term residents and newer families moving into the area. There is a steady demand for both NHS and private dental care, including preventative, restorative, cosmetic, and family dentistry.

Goldington has excellent transport connections. It is just a few miles from Bedford railway station, which offers direct services to London St Pancras in around 35–45 minutes. The area is also well connected by local bus services and major road links, including the A421, A6, and nearby access to the M1 and A1.

For dental professionals, the area presents a varied and rewarding patient base, professional growth opportunities, and a supportive environment in which to live and work.

Other Points of Interest:
Our practice is proud to be one of the longest-standing training practices in the region, with a strong track record of mentoring and supporting dental trainees in a professional, friendly, and enriching environment. We place a high value on education and development—most of our colleagues have completed or are currently working towards postgraduate qualifications or master's degrees, creating a culture of learning, ambition, and clinical excellence.

As a trainee here, you can expect to gain a broad and deep foundation in general dentistry, with access to opportunities that go far beyond the basics. We routinely carry out complex restorative, cosmetic, and implant work, which provides an ideal learning environment for those with interests in oral surgery, prosthodontics, and aesthetic dentistry. If you're committed to learning and willing to get involved, you'll find there's a great deal to gain over the course of the year.

We also hold the local Minor Oral Surgery (MOS) contract, which gives trainees the unique opportunity to observe and learn from oral surgeons who carry out advanced surgical procedures. Shadowing and mentoring are a key part of the experience here, and we make a point of involving our trainees in as much as possible, depending on their interests and progression.

Outside of the practice, Goldington and the wider Bedford area offer a comfortable and accessible place to live. Bedford is a lively market town with good local amenities, plenty of green spaces, and excellent rail links to London, making commuting or weekend travel easy. Accommodation is readily available and typically more affordable than in larger cities, with options ranging from shared housing to private rentals.

We genuinely believe that trainees who choose our practice will not only develop strong clinical skills but also feel part of a supportive and motivated team. If you’re enthusiastic, curious, and committed to making the most of your foundation year, this is an ideal place to grow both personally and professionally.
