Bursary Timeline

We aim to have two application rounds a year.  The timeline for applications for courses commencing in Sep/Oct 2025 is listed below: 

September/October Intake

Applications Open: 14 April 2025

Application Deadline: 6 May 2025 (Midnight)

Longlisting: 7 – 16 May 2025

Shortlisting: 19 – 30 April 2025

Allocations: 2 – 6 June 2025

Outcomes and Offer Acceptance: 9 -13 June 2025

Clearing: 16 – 20 June 2025

Appeals and Feedback Requests: 23 -27 June 2025

Application form for PGCert and PGDip
Supporting Statement

 Please ensure your application is followed up by a supporting statement from your Director of Medical Education (DME), SAS Tutor or Clinical Director.

Supporting statements should be on letter headed paper and confirm the following:

  • That you are employed under a national SAS contract and work in a substantive post within the east of England
  • That you have enough time in your job plan to complete the PGCert/PGDip 
  • That you are committed to postgraduate medical education and have support for your application 

Supporting statements must be emailed to england.mededbursaries.eoe@nhs.net by the application deadline of Midnight on 6 May 2025. Applications without a supporting statement, or statements submitted past the application deadline will not be accepted.
