Raising concerns

NHSE High Impact Action 6:

Create an environment that eliminates the conditions in which bullying, discrimination, harassment and physical violence at work occur.

If you encounter unprofessional behaviours you should feel able to raise concerns within your unit/department/hospital/practice or with your supervisor/senior/colleague/Freedom to speak up guardian.

For various reasons, learners do not feel up to raising concerns. This could be due to fear of reprisal; a feeling that nothing will be done, impact on their career, not wishing to raise their heads over the parapet.

However, the experience of unprofessional behaviours can have a detrimental impact on physical, mental and emotional wellbeing which in turn will impact professional ability and patient care.

We are soon going to have a form on this website where you can raise concerns in a safe space. More information is coming soon for this section.
