Enhance is national pilot programme and as such this can bring some challenges when supervising. The aim of the enhance programme is to help trainees develop generalist skills and finish foundation feeling confident to tackle the everchanging landscape of healthcare. 

 

Although the concept and delivery may be new the core educational content will be familiar with the core modules cross covering key aspects of the foundation curriculum.

What is expected of enhance trainees?  

 

Enhance trainees are expected to engage in the core online educational content, attend face to face hub days and utilise the REAL form to evidence development and learning contributing to foundation higher learning outcomes. In addition, they are expected to complete the evaluation.  

 

What is expected of supervisors?  

 

Supervisors are expected to have a broad understanding of the enhance programme and be able to support trainees throughout the programme. In addition, they will liaise with the local foundation team where necessary to ensure smooth rotations particularly in regard to the innovative generalism longitudinal clerkship (GLIC) placement.

They will encourage trainees to organise enhance experience days and completion of the evaluation.
