Your first decision is what to call your new page.
This should be something relevant to the page’s content. It’s also mandatory, so you won’t be able to save your page until you enter something.
You can add a podcast by uploading an mp3 or wav file.
Under the Podcast heading, click on the Choose File button. This should open up a dialogue box where you can search for file.
Once you have selected the file, click on the Upload button.
When the file is uploaded, enter a Description for the podcast.
This is what it will look like on your page once added.
The next field is where you should put any text which you wish to appear on the page.
The options available are similar to a word processor so should be familiar.
Under the Format drop-down menu there is an option for adding headings to separate out the text.
To add a link, highlight the text or image you want to become a link. Next, click on the icon.
If you want to link to a website or document, select URL from the Link Type drop-down menu and enter the address in the URL field.
If you are linking to an external website or document, click on the Target tab and select New Window (_blank) from the drop down menu.
If you want to link to an e-mail address, select E-mail from the Link Type drop-down menu and enter the e-mail address in the E-Mail Address field.
You can also enter a default e-mail subject and/or message text if required.
Once you have entered the relevant information, press OK.
For advanced users you can select from the Text format drop-down menu to write your own HTML code.
You can also debug existing text by selecting the Source button.
You can add FAQ questions and answers. Once complete they should look something like the example below (these buttons open and close when clicked):
To add one, add a title (or question) in the faq-button field. This will be what the user clicks on to open the larger text / answer area.
Then add the text to the faq-textbox field. This works in the same way as the text editor described in the Adding Text section.
You can upload documents that will appear as attachments at the bottom of your page.
Scroll down to the Documents section.
To add a new document, click on the Choose File button. This should open up a dialogue box where you can search for your document. Multi-upload is supported so you can select as many files as you want by holding down Ctrl whilst clicking on each file.
Once you have selected your document, press Open. Then press the Upload button.
The file should now be added to the list of documents above. Enter a title for the document in the Description field.
To change the order of the documents on the page, click on the icon next to a document and drag it to the desired position.
To hide the visibility of a document, make sure the Display checkbox is unchecked. You will still be able to access the document via alternative links.
To delete a document, click on the Remove button. Once removed, the document will no longer be accessible.
Navigate to the YouTube video you wish to include on the page.
Click on the Share button.
Next, click on the Embed button
Copy the text the appears in the text box below the button
Return to the HEEoE site.
Open the editor for the page to which you want to add the YouTube video.
In the Body section, press the button.
Paste the embed code from YouTube into the box and press OK
The video will then be added to the page. Before saving it will appear like this:
When you save the page, the video should appear as expected
Select Provide a menu link.
For Menu link title, Description and Weight options you can keep their default options.
The parent item should be whichever page you want the new page to be linked from.
It is extremely important that you add a menu link otherwise no-one will be able to access the page.
Once you’re happy with what you’ve done, all you need to do is press Save at the bottom of the page.
Upon refresh, you should see your completed page.
