Equality, diversity and inclusion
In the east of England we are taking action to improve equality, diversion and inclusion. We have published an anti-racism strategy and run inclusive leadership development programmes, supporting people from diverse backgrounds to develop their careers. We are responding to the National pharmacy Chief Pharmaceutical Officers call to action for inclusive pharmacy practice.
Keith Ridge, until recently the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer, NHS England and NHS Improvement, has written a blog about how inclusive pharmacy practice will help us harness and appreciate more the benefits of our diversity. He outlines actions for pharmacy professional leaders and their teams at all levels and in all care settings. We encourage all Integrated Care System pharmacy groups in the east of England to join with us to deliver the plan as a priority.
Responding to the resources for pharmacy professionals on culturally competent healthcare services delivery, CPPE offer training in culturally competent person-centred care (cppe.ac.uk). The resource includes links to national documents including the Joint national plan for inclusive pharmacy practice.
We support the East of England anti racism strategy: The strategy shows how the region is moving towards a health and social care service for everyone – staff and patients.
