SAS Doctors Funding for Local Educational Events

Local Trust funding will be agreed upon and allocated by NHS England (NHSE) based on an Activity and Budget Planner (example below). As in previous years funding for local education and training events at Trusts will be available. NHSE will continue to promote the use of Activity and Budget Planning this year. This process is aligned with the annual development planning process used by Specialty Schools.

We would like SAS Tutors and LED Tutors, if one is appointed at the Trust, to work collaboratively with MEMs and other nearby Trusts where possible, in order to plan developmental opportunities for SAS doctors and Locally Employed Doctors (LEDs) for the whole of the current financial year. Please be aware that any courses that take place outside of this financial year will be declined.

Any funding provided by NHS England is made available to provide local educational events for SAS Doctors and LEDs.

Wellbeing

NHSE are keen to encourage wellbeing activity for SAS doctors and LEDs and in light of this, we ask that you consider organising activities that include promoting wellbeing for SAS doctors and LEDs in your Trust.

Evaluation

It is a mandatory requirement for any successful funding applicants to complete an evaluation form and feedback to NHSE at the end of the financial year.
