Psychiatry

CPFT scheme

National Scheme

The Royal College of Psychiatry offer a Mentorship programme for members. 

Clinical Radiology

The Royal College of Radiologists offer the RadReach Mentoring scheme here.

General Surgery

The Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) runs a national mentoring scheme open to trainees from medical students to registrar level.  They also run mentor training courses.  For more information, please click here.

Women in Medicine

The University of Cambridge Clinical School Academic Women's Forum runs a mentoring scheme for women based in the Cambridge Biomedical Campus for women interested in research opportunities or a career in academia.  For more information, please click here.

 

Haematology

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health run mentoring courses and have mentoring standards written.

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists have general information about mentoring and information about their own Academic mentoring scheme available.

Association for Elderly Medicine Education - OPMentor is an opportunity for junior doctors of any grade who are interested in geriatric medicine to find some informal support with their career development.

National schemes

The British Cardiovascular Society holds a list of consultants who have offered to mentor BCS members ST3 or above.  For more information, please contact enquiries@bcs.com.

The British Society for Heart Failure offer a one-year mentoring programme designed specifically for health care professionals who are interested in pursuing an academic career or further qualification in the field of heart failure. For more information, please visit their website here.

Neurology

National scheme

ABNT mentoring scheme which pairs prospective neurology trainees with existing trainees and consultants. The ABNT is also putting together a meeting for trainees approaching/in final year of training regarding planning for and working in the first years of consultancy which is maybe a way of offering some mentor-like input on a bigger scale to reflect the challenges that transition poses and we are directly helping with this with the hope that this will be an excellent resource for EoE neurology trainees.
