Below you can find suggested actions to take should you wish to raise a concern.
If a trainee raises concerns regarding the provision of educational support received, there are a number of ways to manage this, dependent on the circumstances.
In some cases, it may be appropriate for this to be raised directly with the named educational/clinical supervisor.
In other cases, it may be more appropriate for the concerns to be raised directly with the TPD who can then arrange a facilitated joint discussion and/or escalate to the Associate Dean or DME.
Should an Educational or Clinical SUpervisor have concerns regarding a trainees progress, it is suggested that first and foremost this is discussed with the TPD who can further explore the issues, offer advice and guidance and agree next steps. Separate discussion with the individual trainee may also be required to understand if there any mitigating circumstances (such as health). It may also be wise to offer referral to the Professional Support and Well-being service and/or the lead employer Health, Work and Well-being (OH) service.
