The metabolic service in Cambridge continues to develop and a second consultant has recently been appointed.  Dr Ramaswami has close working links with a number of specialist centres across the UK.

Cambridge offers one of the only integrated services linking paediatric and adult metabolic support. At present training attachments are of 12 months duration allowing trainees to develop a special interest in metabolic medicine. In the longer term, there may be an opportunity to develop a National Grid training programme involving rotations to other specialist centres.
