After successfully piloting the e-portfolio in the York Deanery last year the RCPCH has decided to roll this out to all trainees. The e-portfolio is designed to bring together all records of training and assessment for speciality training in Paediatrics. The e-portfolio allows trainees and supervisors to identify learning needs, formulate a personal development plan and record and provide evidence of the development that has been achieved during each post.

Trainees will need to have evidence available to present to the annual competency review panels of their training, learning and assessments in order to make satisfactory progress each year. The portfolio will support training and provide a more reliable and consistent way of recording progress. PMETB may wish to review the final portfolio in order to assess suitability for CCT.

Through e-portfolio, the trainees can be delivered alerts about training courses, messages from regional advisor/educational advisor, access curriculum, fill educational supervision forms for induction, mid and final educational supervision meetings, maintain personal development plans, keep developmental log and skills log, assessments such as . DOPS, CbDs, Mini-CEX and e-SPRAT, have trainers reports, previous ARCPs and the record of the posts held.
