The Educational Supervisor: I graduated in 2014 from the University of Manchester and undertook Foundation Training and then spent a year working as a DCT at Leicester Royal Infirmary in Maxillofacial Surgery. Since then, I have undertook a range of roles as an associate dentist and developed a special interest in oral surgery. I undertake general NHS and Private dentistry as well as offering treatments such as complex extractions under IV Sedation. I place dental implants and undertake a small amount of facial aesthetic treatments. I have undertake a PGCert in Operative Dentistry and therefore can guide FDs into providing excellent indirect restorations. I previously was a undergraduate tutor in the restorative department at University of Manchester and therefore I am hopeful to provide a good development opportunity for foundation dentists at our practice. Finally I have undertake a Masters in Dental Public Health, which has enabled me to understand dental services in more detail and tailor our practice to provide excellent service levels to patients.
The Practice: The practice has been established for over 100 years with Milan and Krishna (a husband and wife team taking over in December 2021). We have spent the last couple of years significantly investing in our practice to provide the highest quality of care to our patients. Our aim is to provide the best quality of dental care to patients in a 'spa like' experience. Our foundation dentist room is suitable for left handed working with a large room. The equipment is of excellent quality and provides opportunities to develop. We invest heavily in equipment and materials to ensure a high quality dental service. Examples include rotary endodontics as standard, sectional matrices, OPG/CBCT machine, Intra oral scanner for impression taking. The Foundation Dentist will be able to utilise all our latest equipment to fully develop into a modern provider of high quality dentistry.
The Area: We have based in the heart of Leicester, which is a very busy city! We have parking available at the back of the practice for staff and a small number of patients.
The demographics of our practice is mixed with a range of patients who have been coming to the practice for several years who have excellent oral health, alongside some requiring significant dental treatment. This mix should provide a excellent base for the foundation dentist to get significant exposure. Located on Aylestone Road, we have excellent links to public transport including bus and we are only a short walk away from the train station.
Other Points of Interest: We are Leicester's CDS support practice, this is a scheme in which our dentist train up with the local community dentist to take on referrals for treatment that can be provided to patients referred to CDS from other practices. This helps reduce the waitings list for our local CDS service.
We work a local homeless charity in which the Principals (Milan & Krishna) provide free dental care to anyone registered with them. Providing a social benefit as healthcare providers is a core ethos for us. We undertake regular social events in the practice to ensure excellent team working between all staff members.
