The Educational Supervisor:
After qualifying from Birmingham in 2008 Helen moved to Ironbridge and has worked within the NHS ever since. She enjoys helping anxious patients feel at ease and also treating families. She has completed various courses for facial aesthetics and offers anti-wrinkle, dermal filler and skin booster treatments to achieve natural results. She has more recently completed a certificate in Operative dentistry with Tipton Training and is a Workplace Supervisor for dentists qualifying outside of the UK. She enjoys the day to day hustle and bustle of a busy NHS practice and interacting with peers and colleagues and has an open door policy for all staff members.
Outside of work Helen loves spending time with her husband and 3 young children. She has recently taken up sewing and often wears her creations to work.
The Practice: Stirchley Dental Practice is a large accessible purpose built surgery. It adjoins the medical practice and has a pharmacy on site. There is a dedicated car park for patients and staff members and is located close to transport links for commuting by car or public transport. There are 8 spacious, ventilated surgeries all having the benefit of being fully computerised, digital X-rays ,having air- con and natural light. There is a separate decontamination room, large reception area with a separate office, staff room with lockers and facilities, down the ramp office and practice managers office.
The majority of our patients are existing patients of the practice who understand the importance of good quality dental care and appreciate our friendly approach. The team is multidisciplinary and diverse including: a visiting Oral Surgeon, Restorative dentist, dentist with specialist interest in endodontics and many of the team offering cosmetic treatments including Smilefast, Invisalign and Implants. In addition we have the support of full time hygienists, trained dental nurses , receptionists , a practice manager and a Clinical Director, who helps with difficult cases. It is a very progressive friendly team with everyone keen to support and offer help and advice and further training. We socialize together at lunchtime and also out of work.
The Area: Stirchley is in close proximity to Telford centre (7 minute drive to the train station) and being very close to junction 4 of the M54 motorway means it is a 30 minute drive from Wolverhampton and 50 minutes from Birmingham on the corridor to Wales.
Other Points of Interest: The practice is close to many places of local interest including:
- Ironbridge and its museums , such as Blists Hill Victorian Town;
- Southwater development with the shopping centre, local cocktail bars and restaurants;
- Many local market towns and villages such as Shrewsbury and Much Wenlock.
