The Educational Supervisor: Welcome to our practice...
ES and practice owner Harpreet Malhi graduated from Birmingham University in 2007 and was awarded membership to the Royal College of Surgeons after completing her MJDF qualification in 2009. In the early parts of her career, Harpreet worked as a senior house office in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery before returning to practice where her interest developed in Cosmetic Dentistry, Invisalign and Facial Aesthetics. In addition, to completing many post-graduate courses, including most recently gained a post-graduate certificate in Medical Education to further support her role working as an ES.
Harpreet has been praised for educating with a calm and approachable manner. Harpreet reflects back to her FD year: "Having a fantastic ES all those years back, always inspired me to give back the same experience I received. I will be passing on my wealth of knowledge to build a strong foundation year to our new FD and team member".
The Practice: Our practice at a glance...
We are a well-established mixed practice with an excellent reputation providing dental care for over 30 years. The practice comprises of three spacious surgeries, computerised with digital x-rays, rotary endo and full range of dental materials. Our practice layout on the ground level comprises of a large reception area, surgery number 1, decontamination room; patient WC, staff room, separate staff WC and a spacious teaching/tutorial room. On the 1st floor following recent refurbishment we have surgery number 2 and 3.
The practice provides all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry. There will be many diverse learning opportunities for our FD throughout the year. The FD will be working Monday to Thursday and will be assisted by an experienced qualified dental nurse. Further support will always be on hand by the whole dental team, including our friendly hygienist/therapist and associates, who are all willing to help.
The Area: Some information about the area...
The practice is situated approximately 8 miles from Birmingham Centre, with easy access to the M5/M42 motorways and close proximity to bus and train networks. There is free parking outside the practice.
We are on a busy high street, all your local amenities on one road; including a local Tesco and Co-op. The practice serves the local community and has a stable loyal patient base; we have grown rapidly over the years. As a result, our FD will have the opportunity to provide a broad spectrum of treatments to become a well-rounded clinician.
