Both Sabina and Lomas alongside the entire Team at the Practice enjoy teaching and mentoring and take pride in helping our FD to get the most out of the Foundation Training year. The entire Team have an open door policy and are friendly and welcoming. The Associates at the Practice thoroughly enjoy the buzz of teaching and get involved with the FD's training to enhance the learning experience.
The Practice: The Practice is situated in a residential town in Stevenage, 25 minutes drive from North London. Shephall Dental Surgery has been a well established family oriented Practice since the 1950's. Shephall has been a FD training Practice since 2006. The Practice has four spacious treatment rooms all of which are fully equipped with modern equipment. The Practice has digital xrays, rotary endodontic equipment and a scanner. The FD's surgery can be adapted for a left handed Team member if needed. A broad range of treatment in the field of general restorative and implant dentistry is carried out. Our focus is on the prevention of disease and the Dentist's are supported by a Team of Hygienists working at the Practice. Many Team members, Associates, Receptionists, Practice Managers and Nurses; have been with us for several years and are very keen to involve themselves in FD training. An enthusiastic FD who will be completing the Foundation Training year in August 2023 looks forward to mentoring and supporting our new FD this September.
The Area: Stevenage is a Town in the county of Hertfordshire with a population of circa 90'000. The Practice is a 25 minute drive from North London and is well connected to the road network being just off the A1(M). The town is served by main line rail facilities, with regular services to London. Stevenage has a comprehensive range of retail facilities and services with leisure parks and restaurants.
Other Points of Interest: We have a friendly, laid back patient base and as we have been training since 2006. Many patients at the Practice are used to being seen by a FD. The patient base provides the FD with the opportunity to consolidate their skills and learn new skills throughout the year. The Team of Associates at the Practice are enthusiastic and enjoy participating in FD training. Many of our previous FDs have stayed on and have become Associates at the Practice. Many FD's that have trained at the Practice have gone on to own their own Practice's and many have pursued further postgraduate qualifications. Accommodation in Stevenage is easy to find and is affordable.
