The Validation Supervisor: Amit has been an ES since 2017 and thoroughly enjoys teaching, supporting and guiding his FDs. He graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2011 and has been in general practice since. He has an MSc in Primary Dental Care and a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Education. He took on the challenge of owning his own practice in 2016, and has since made exceptional improvement in this practice.
Never forget, there is plenty more to life than just Dentistry. Amit also enjoys traveling, going to the gym and playing sports - mainly football and golf.
The Practice: The practice has eight surgeries. We first opened our doors in 1991 and it has grown, organically, with Vocational/Foundation Training at its heart. In recent years, the practice is being modernised. It is fully computerised with Software of Excellence (EXACT) and digital x-rays. We have an excellent team of nurses and receptionists who are experienced in Foundation Training and well placed to meet the changing needs of a Foundation/PLVE Dentist throughout the year. We are passionate to remain within the NHS and continue to deliver quality dentistry to our patients within a NHS funded contract. Opportunity does exist for practicing a small amount of Dentistry under Private contract where appropriate.
Our patients are drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds and need. Opportunity exists here to gain a wide experience of all aspects of Dentistry within a relaxed yet very supportive environment.
Currently we have six Performer dentists, two being former FDs at the practice.
We have eight part time hygienists who are students upon the Foundation Degree Hygienist training program offered by the University of Essex.
The Area: Maldon is a beautiful town in Essex, just 10 miles east of Chelmsford and a 30 minute drive from London. It has a fascinating and diverse history and a vibrant community feel to it. There is a lot of development going on in Maldon and the surrounding areas, as the population continues to grow.
If you fancy spending some time outdoors, Maldon has an exciting Promenade Park which offers Adventure Golf, an ornamental lake, and plenty of greenery to enjoy. The local high street has some great pubs and restaurants, and plenty of independent shops. There is also a new shopping complex just walking distance from the practice comprising of a Next, Costa, Home Bargains, Aldi and Sports Direct, with more to come.
Other Points of Interest: There are a few leisure centers and gyms within a 10 minute drive. New Hall Vineyard, an English Wine Producer with over 65 hectares of vines, is just a short drive away and is one of the oldest and largest in the country.
If you are feeling more active, a 15 minute drive to Essex Outdoor Centre in Danbury, will give you the opportunity to undertake a variety of activities from archery, zip wiring, water activities, caving, and many more.
