The east of England multiprofessional school launched in the Autumn term 2022 and has been created to support the development and learning of first year foundation trainees across medical, pharmacy, dental and physician assistants.
It is the first in the country to combine these disciplines to offer joint learning opportunities. There is significant national interest in the practicalities and the results of this approach.
Multiprofessional working broadens understanding and increases collaboration in the earliest years of training which can result in improved and more personalised patient care.
Working as a multidisciplinary team can improve job satisfaction and morale through sharing of knowledge, enhancing skills and collaborating on shared projects with an emphasis on patient care.
