The Practice: St Mary's Dental Practice has been established for over 30 years and is situated in the centre of Ely. It is a large mixed NHS and private dental practice offering a wide variety of dental care to a broad cross section of the local population. There are 7 surgeries, 7 dentists, 4 hygienists, a practice manager, a receptionist and treatment coordinator and 10 nurses. The team varies in age and experience from the younger training members to those who have been practicing for several decades.
All the surgeries have an intra-oral x-ray machine, computer with two screens, and some have tv's for patient communication. We have a central decontamination room. Records are held on a networked Exact Software of Excellence computer system with digital radiography and a digital intra-oral camera. We have a CBCT/DPT and intra-oral scanner.
We are a friendly practice a good working atmosphere and a large common room where team members congregate at lunchtime.
The Area: Ely is an historic Cathedral City about 15 miles north of Cambridge. The Cathedral stands tall in the centre with the city built around it. The population is expanding rapidly and there are strong road networks to the wider region as well as the A14 and M11. The train station is 10 mins walk from the practice and Ely has good train services to Cambridge, Peterborough and Norwich. There is a lovely high street with a popular market square as well a country park and great river bars in town.
