The Educational Supervisor: I qualified from Manchester in 2013. Following completion of DFT, I took up a DCT1 MaxFax post in the Northwest. In 2015 I started working as an associate in Birmingham. I purchased our practice, with my brother, in December 2017 and became an education supervisor in 2019. I am committed to providing a high quality outcomes for my patients and also ensuring that my staff feel fulfilled in their jobs. By continually pushing my abilities, I hope to pass onto my FD, a passion for the work you do.
I have completed several postgraduate qualifications. In my year as a MaxFax DCT1, I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Since working in general practice, I have completed 2 Postgraduate Certificates in Restorative Dentistry and Orthodontics.
I am passionate about all aspects of dentistry, and I would encourage FDs to develop their own passions, so that you love what you do. I believe keeping an open mind has made me a more well-rounded clinician and I draw on my wide experiences to provide more complex treatment plans. I have a keen interest in comprehensive dentistry which includes: Advanced Restorative, Orthodontics, Occlusion and TMD. I lecture in these topics on a postgraduate course, and I am keen to educate/mentor other dentists.
An FD will also have the benefit of multiple highly motivated dentist, who can also mentor you in their respective fields.
The Practice: At House of Dental, we are aspiring to innovate and do something different in the dental industry. We are a mixed NHS and private 5 surgery Specialist Referral Practice. We are currently undergoing major renovations at the practice to take us to 7 surgeries including a large staff quarters and teaching facility. We aspire the clinic to look like no other with bold designs and ergonomics. The new FD Surgery was newly built in August 2019 specific to the needs of a FD and ES, despite this, it is also receiving a makeover. An FD can enjoy full access to high quality equipment throughout the practice giving plenty of opportunity to provide high quality treatment. This includes a Digital Intraoral Scanner (iTero); a digital OPG/CBCT machine; a Microscope and Digital Intraoral X-rays.
We hold NHS contracts for General Dentistry and Specialist Orthodontics. We have a large skill mix at the practice consisting of an Orthodontist, Endodontist, Periodontist, Implantologist, Dentists with Specialist Interests, General Dentists, a Therapist and an Orthodontic therapist. Not to mention our Practice Manager, 8 highly trained Nurses and 3 Front of house staff. An FD would be exposed to a wide range of treatments at our practice and the opportunity to develop some private or orthodontic experience. Our practice is well equipped for an FD that wants to be pushed to work in a highly skilled and motivated team.
The Area: We are making large investments into the practice both aesthetically and to push the boundaries of what we can achieve. We are always looking to up-skill and plan to add full digital dentistry workflows into our practice. We are looking for an FD that is self-motivated, passionate and enthusiasm drives them to achieve high quality outcomes for their patients.
In our practice Clinicians all take part in regular peer review, where we present cases to each other so that we can all learn from each other. The FD joining us can also be part of the process so that we can all learn from each other.
