Leadership in pharmacy is essential to support happy, healthy pharmacy teams improving care for patients. Collaboration, collective leadership and shared learning within and across organisations will support working with colleagues to improve medicines optimisation and medicines value.  

Health Education England in the east of England offer a range of leadership programmes that pharmacy professionals can access, you can find out more in the leadership section below. 

Leadership development is essential to deliver effective and integrated clinical and professional pharmacy leadership in a high pressure and ever changing NHS environment. 

 

National pharmacy leadership programmes

Leadership training for pharmacy professionals can be accessed from the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) via the CPPE leadership gateway page

Edward Jenner programme – leadership academy

The Edward Jenner programme is your first port of call if you’re looking to build a strong foundation of leadership skills that can help enhance your confidence and competence in your role. The programme has been designed to offer flexibility as a suite of online short courses. Register and find out more here.

 

The revised Edward Jenner programme Level 1 opens March 2022:

Level 1 has three short courses;

  • Course 1: Exploring what leadership means to me (4 weeks, 5 hours per week)
  • Course 2: Leading through relationships (5 weeks, 5 hours per week)
  • Level 1 Assessment (4 weeks)

 

Level 2 opens spring 2022 for all who have completed Level 1 or have, in the last 5 years, achieved an Award in Leadership Foundations.

  • Course 3: Leading in and beyond my team (5 weeks, 5 hours per week)
  • Course 4: The leader as manager (4 weeks, 5 hours per week)
  • Level 2 Assessment (4 weeks)
