The Educational Supervisors: Mohammed Saleem qualified from the Barts and The London in 1996 and after DFT and working as an associate became Principal at Stamford Dental Care in 1999. As a GDP for over 24 years with a special interest in Implantology and Restorative Dentistry, he has completed a Certificate in Surgical and Prosthodontic Implantology, Certificate in Restorative Dentistry, Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Dental Practice (DRDP) from UCL. His hobbies include football, Cricket, running and travelling.
Waseem Farooq has been practicing at Stamford Dental Care since 2010 and has a special interest in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry, adult Orthodontics with short term fixed braces and aligner therapy. He has attended several courses in advanced restorative techniques including Certificate and Advance courses in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry and is planning to complete a Diploma and Masters. His hobbies include Karate, Cricket, Walking and travelling.
Saleem and Waseem have been teaching and mentoring students for the preparation of IQE, ORE exams for over 10 years. They are both enrolled on the PG Cert in Dental Education course for September 2021 at the University of Bedford.
The Practice: Stamford Dental Care is a very busy mixed dental practice that was relocated to a new purpose built premises in the centre of Stamford in December 2019. The practice is comprised of 7 surgeries which are equipped with new high specification dental chairs and cabinetry. The practice is fully computerized and paperless, all x-ray imaging is digital. There is a decontamination room and 2 waiting rooms, separate staff room with kitchen. The practice has full disability access. Our team consists of seven dentists who have different interests and are always available to guide our FD. We have a Implant and Periodontal referral service and would be more than happy to allow the FD to shadow and assist. At Stamford Dental Care we have a team of 14 dedicated staff members and two hygienists who have been with the practice anything from 1 year to 23 years. We have a large stable patient base and a very friendly and supportive dental team. We regularly have team meetings in practice and prior to the covid pandemic social gatherings outside of practice.
The Area: Once dubbed “Britain’s top place to live”, Stamford is a pretty market town in Lincolnshire boasting 16th-century charm and an independent shopping and dining scene that attracts travellers from far and wide.
The stately home of Burghley House on the edge of the town was built by Lord Burghley the treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, in the 16th-c and its elaborate cupolas and obelisk clock towers can be seen anywhere in the surrounding park with its many deer. There is also a sculpture garden and the garden of Surprises. Its magnificent room settings and painted ceilings are a joy to see.
Stamford is easily accessible by car from the A1, which is just five minutes from the town centre or by train from nearby Peterborough or directly from London (via Kings Cross station), in just one and a half hours.
Other Points of Interest: Our FD will gain tremendous and varied experience in all aspects of dentistry including Implantology, Periodontology,adult Orthodontics, Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Facial aesthetics, along with provision of General Dentistry.
