The Educational Supervisor: I qualified from Cardiff (University of Wales, College of Medicine) in 1997. Came home to Leicester to start his career as a VT. In November 1999 we opened the purpose built Briarmeads Dental Practice. Since 2001 have been a Foundation Dentist Trainer and has achieved IIP since 2000. Over the last 22 years I have undertaken training in Cosmetic Dentistry, in Occlusion, an active Full Member of the BACD, Certified as an Six Months Smile, Invisalign, Inman and Clear aligner orthodontics provider, Certified as a Enlighten Whitening provider, completed full Facial Rejuvenation Course and I completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Education. Clinically I enjoy treating nervous patients to gain optimum dental health. Cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics in a balanced and stable oral health. Treatment of jaw disorders and headaches. Treatment of oral disharmony with Minimal Invasive Dentistry using Six Months Smile, Invisalign, Inman, Minimal Prep - Veneers and occlusal balance. Training of newly qualified Dentist and Dental Nurses to achieve their potential in the world of Dentistry.
I love traveling with the family and make it a point to get away as far as possible at least once a year to spend time together. I am a keen scuba diver and most of our holidays are centred around a warm coast.
The Practice: Briarmeads Dental Practice, completely purpose built in 1999. The practice structure is 5 surgeries on the ground floor, making it fully DDA compatible. The front of the practice has the patients waiting area which is light and open planned with the latest in patient’s information, giving the patients a comfortable and relaxed feel to the practice.Clinical area; has 5 state of the art surgeries which are fully equipped with, intra-oral digital x-rays and computerised. The surgeries are supplied by a central decontamination unit which fully complies with the HTM 0105 regulations. Non-clinical area has a separate patient consultation area away from the surgeries where they can discuss their needs and treatments. An OPT room is. We also have a mini lab. Where we can pour up and mouth our study models, make whitening trays, mouth guards and bite appliances. The rear of the practice has a dedicated staff room which enables our staff privacy during there breaks.
The Area: Briarmeads Dental Practice is situated in the middle of a residential area in the Oadby, Leicester. Oadby is a town within the borough of Oadby and Wigston, in Leicestershire, England. It is to the southeast of Leicester. Oadby forms part of the Leicester Urban Area, and is situated on the A6 road. The town is most famous for Leicester Racecourse, situated on the border between Oadby and Leicester, and the University of Leicester Botanic Garden. It is also the home of the Beauchamp College, and halls of residence for the University of Leicester. Oadby is a predominantly residential area. The success of Beauchamp College makes Oadby an attractive location for families with children. As is increasingly the case throughout Leicestershire, Oadby has a diverse population, ethnically and by religion. Major employers in Oadby are the schools, Asda, Sainsbury's and the shops in the centre of the town.
Other Points of Interest: The Dental Team carry out a number of social events through out the year with nights out in to Leicester City along with the annual Christmas Dinner, The DFT end of year dinner, and various Birthday nights out. Most of the social time is spent in the City of Leicester at bars, restaurants and night clubs are in abundance. We also twice a year have team building events comprising various sporting events from go-karting, paint balling, day at the horses etc.
