The Educational Supervisor: I became an ES in 2017 when I was appointed to the Telford scheme, and I have been an associate at my previous practice, which was an FD, approved practice since 2012. I have thoroughly enjoyed my previous experience has an ES, and look forward to this year. I purchased the Coach House Dental Practice in 2019. I qualified from Birmingham in 2007, and I completed my FGDP exams in 2012. I have also completed a PGCERT in Medical Education. I have a very relaxed approach to my patient care and management.
Currently, I am undertaking post-graduate training in Periodontics and Facial Aesthetics. I find dentistry very rewarding and enjoyable. I have completed courses in Mini Smile Makeover, Dental Photography and Invisalign. I am a Gold Provider of Invisalign.
Away from dentistry, I enjoy spending time with my kids and family, watching and listening to the cricket.
The Practice: The practice has recently undergone refurbishment. We are a two surgery practice based in the scenic town of Wirksworth. We are on the ground floor of the building with ample car park space. All the surgeries have Belmont chairs, built-in ultrasonic scalers, fast and slow handpieces, cordless light cures, digital X-rays and rotary endo units. The practice is fully digital and paperless. We also have an iTero 5D element scanner which is used for all Invisalign cases and all restorative cases. The FD will have ample opportunity to use the scanner.
The Area: Wirksworth is a small friendly market town in the Derbyshire Dales. It is easily accessible via the A38 and the M1.
Other Points of Interest: My philosophy is to provide the FD with an environment within which they can excel both their clinical skills and personal skills. I believe this form of mentoring can only be accomplished in a relaxed and friendly environment.
