The Educational Supervisors: Adrian Smith qualified from Bristol university in 1981 and joined the practice the following year. Adrian has been an Educational Supervisor since 1992 and has a broad experience in all aspects of Dental Foundation Training. He has a number of outside interests include cycling, golf, music technology, skiing and football. Shilpi Rattan is the newest partner at the practice and is joining Adrian as a joint Educational Supervisor in 2020.
Shilpi qualified in 2001 at Kings College and will complete her PG Cert course in Dental Education in June 2020. Shilpi has a breadth of experience in General dentistry, including posts in Community dental practice and in Oral and Maxillofacial departments in hospital over the years. She has an interest in complex restorative care. The practice undertakes a broad range of dentistry including implants and adult orthodontics and has a visiting periodontist and endodontist. The practice is keen to understand and adopt the latest techniques in dentistry.
The Practice: The practice is situated in a Grade II listed Tudor timber framed building on the main High Street in Bushey. It has six surgeries with modern equipment and a new waiting room. We are fully computerised using exact software with digital X-ray imaging. The FD's surgery is fully equipped with a wall mounted Adec unit and a Belmont chair and light. We treat mainly local families and most of our patients are regular attenders.
The staff consist of two partners, five associate dentists, four hygienists, one Foundation Dentist,two receptionists and seven surgery nurses. The practice opening hours are 8am-6pm Monday to Friday.
The Area: Bushey is situated two miles south of Watford and 20 miles north of London . It is a five minute drive from Junction 5 on the M1.
It is a fairly affluent area and has a village feel whilst still being on the fringes of London.
Other Points of Interest: Bushey Village has a museum, a few good restaurants and pubs and its own church and pond. It has good communications to London via Bushey and Oxhey station or on the underground via Stanmore.
