The Educational Supervisors: Jackie: I graduated from King's in 2010 and completed my training on the Ipswich scheme. I have a previous BSc degree also completed at King's. Since completing my foundation training I have competed the MJDF examinations and have undertaken courses in short term orthodontics, implants, smile make overs and anti-wrinkle treatments. I have been working in practice since completing my training and have been at Corringham Dental since 2014. Outside of dentistry I enjoy spending time with my young family, traveling and participating in a few different sporting activities as often as possible.
Mehreen: I graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2010. Since qualifying I have been awarded with my postgraduate MFDS (Royal college of surgeons in Edinburgh).
I became interested in cosmetic dentistry early on and completed a one year course in advanced cosmetic dentistry by Dr Christopher Orr (Ex-president of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry). I have an interest in cosmetic braces and have completed courses in brace systems including Six month Smiles, Fast braces, Inman Aligner and Clear Aligner. My caring nature allows me to approach patients in a very delicate manner. I particularly enjoy working with anxious patients and am experienced in conscious sedation. More recently I have gained an interest in Implant dentistry and am working towards obtaining my Diploma in Implantology. Outside of work, I am a mum to 2 children and love cooking, shopping and travelling.
The Practice: We are a very busy mixed practice, with a newly constructed extension, making us a 4 surgery practice with staff room facilities and air conditioning. We are fully computerised with digital radiographs , digital SLR and intra-oral cameras. We have 5 associate dentists, a hygienist, nursing and reception staff and a practice manager. The principle dentist is also an ES and is very involved with the work provided at the practice. We provide a wide range of specialty treatments including implants, short term orthodontics and anti-wrinkle treatments.
The building has been a dental surgery for over 30 years and thus has a well established patient list with a wide variety of age groups. With lots of new residential developments we are continuously taking on new patients as well, lots of whom are referrals from our existing patients.
The Area: The practice is located in a residential area very close to Corringham Town Centre, within easy reach of Basildon. The closest train station is Stanford-Le-Hope, which is on the C2C train line into London Fenchurch Street (40 mins). The local area has 3 secondary schools and 5 primary schools and is a constantly expanding area, thus we have a large patient base. There are a number of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Lakeside Shopping Centre and Southend-on-Sea are also within easy reach. Corringham can be accessed via the A13 or A127.
Other Points of Interest: There are 2 other Simply Teeth practices within Essex and all of the dentists regularly meet for case discussions and social events.
