The Educational Supervisor: I graduated from University College London dental school in 1987. I then did a SHO job in Max Fax there before going into practice, initially in Hampshire. I have subsequently worked in Bedfordshire and now Northamptonshire. I have, over the years been involved in the local BDA and LDC as well as denta nurse training. I have been a practice principal, working in NHS and private practice for 27 years. I have been a ES for 4 years, a role I enjoy greatly. I have recently completed my Cert Ed which was a bit of a shock after so long out of formal education!
Outside of work, I am a qualified BSAC sub aqua instructor and enjoy film,food and travel.

The Practice: The Elms has been established at it present site for 40 yrs. It was acquired by Rodericks Dental approx 11 yrs ago. Rodericks is a Northampton based dental corporate with some sites 70 +sites from London to the Midlands and the A1 to Wales. The directors are all dentists. It is large predominantly NHS practice located in central Northampton opposite the General Hospital. It has the added benefit of being a Rodericks specialist referral practice with visiting specialties each week: - in periodontics, endodontics, orthodontics and implants. The practice is fully computerised using Exact software system, with digital radiography within the 8 surgeries. There is Hygienist support every day. Being a big practice we have a range of opportunities and a full range of NHS and private services and a large and varied young staff. The patient base is varied and the incoming FD will be taking on an established list. 5 mins walk to the town centre with onsite parking.

The Area: Northampton is historically linked to the shoe industry but today is home to a growing logistics industry and financial services sector. Home to Barclaycard and Nationwide.Premiership rugby union is played here and the football team has been recently successful. Northampton University is growing rapidly in size and reputation and the Royal and Derngate Theatre is host to many touring events and concerts.
2 mins by car to the A45. M1 10 mins away. Northampton mainline station 20 mins walk with services to Euston and Birmingham in approx. 1 Hr

Other Points of Interest: Rodericks has a proud history of being involved in dental training. They run a series of lectures and hands on courses, often at great discounts for their dentists.
