The Educational Supervisor: I qualified from Manchester in 2013. Following completion of DFT, I immediately took up a DCT1 MaxFax post in the North West. In 2015 I moved back home to Coventry and stated working as an associate in Birmingham. I purchased our practice, with my brother, in December 2017. I am committed to providing a fantastic experience for my patients. I aim to do this by ensuring I continually push my abilities to provide the highest quality treatments. I hope to pass this onto my DCT, to ignite a passion for the work you do. In an effort to improve my abilities I have completed several postgraduate qualifications. During my time as an FD I knew that I wanted to become an ES and set about pursuing a teaching qualification. During my year as a MaxFax DCT1 I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Since working as an associate I have completed 2 Postgraduate Certificates in Restorative Dentistry and Orthodontics.

I love all aspects of dentistry and I would encourage all FDs to develop their own passions so that you love what you do. I believe keeping an open mind has made me more well rounded clinician and I draw on my wide experiences to provide more complex treatment plans. I have keen interests in Occlusion, TMD, Cosmetics, Facial Aesthetics and Orthodontics.

The Practice: We are a mixed NHS and private 5 surgery Specialist Practice. The brand new FD Surgery will be newly built in August 2019 specific to the needs of a FD and ES. We hold NHS contacts for General Dentistry and Specialist Orthodontics. We have a large skill mix at the practice consisting of 3 Orthodontic Specialist, 2 Dentists with Specialist Interest, 2 General Dentists, a therapist and an orthodontic therapist. Not to mention 6 highly trained Nurses and we train apprentice dental nurses also. An FD would be exposed to a wide range of treatment at our practice and the opportunity to develop some orthodontic experience. We are full computerised, with high quality equipment throughout the practice giving plenty of opportunity to provide high quality treatment.

The practice is within a large purpose-built building and is due to receive a major refurbishment in Autumn 2019 to the waiting room areas and reception desk. We are always looking to invest in more modern improvements and hope to add a digital intraoral scanner to the available equipment in the new few months.

The Area: Our Clinic is situated in West Heath, Birmingham (approximately 10mins from the M40). Our building backs onto the West Heath high street and has a pharamcy and opticians next door to up. There is ample free parking in the dedicated spaces at the front of the practice, on the street, or the free car park 20 yards from the practice.

Birmingham City Centre is a 20 min drive and could be a great area to live in. Our clinic is in a predominately working-class area, where an FD will get a major wealth of experience in treating patients for a range of treatments. West Heath is also surrounded by desirable areas such as Harbourne and Edgbaston.

Other Points of Interest: We are looking to making large investments into the practice both aesthetically and to push the boundaries of what we can achieve. We are always looking to up-skill and plan to add full digital dentistry work flows into our practice. We are looking for an FD that is enthusiastic and wishes to achieve high quality outcomes for their patients.
