The Educational Supervisor: I am an enthusiastic dentist who enjoys practice life and further professional development. Interests include surgical placement and restoration of implants, fixed orthodontics on children and adults, inhalation sedation. I act as an independent expert in medico-legal cases. I am a dental practice advisor to NHS England and I am Chair of the Local Dental Network for East Anglia.
Outside dentistry I enjoy spending time with my wife and three small children. I enjoy keeping fit, scuba diving, sailing and wind surfing in warmer climates. My next challenge is to learn how to kite surf confidently and/or start gliding
The Practice: Bank Buildings Dental Surgery is a busy family friendly practice which was established over forty years ago. The Practice is situated in the centre of Sudbury.
There are:
- 8 dentists: Nicola Herrington, Hema Goud, Rob Bradbury, Dalia Odeh, Nigel Cheung, Jon Woods, Aishah Nadim and myself.
- 3 hygienists: Kate, Jo and Jenny King
- Practice manger: Eileen
- 3 receptionists, 8 nurses and oral health educators.
We are a large mixed NHS and Private practice which is fully network computerised and digital radiography for intra-oral and DPT radiographs. We have an intraoral camera and we have broadband access. We have a central decontamination process
The Area: The town of Sudbury is situated equidistant between Ipswich, Colchester, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge so there are other VT training practices nearby. Sudbury is a thriving historical town with a large catchment area. It has various bars, 2 night-clubs, restaurants, leisure centre, tennis courts, theatre, and football club. It is close to the picturesque towns of Long Melford and Lavenham which swell with tourists in summer. The railway station is 2 minutes walk from the practice with connections to London Liverpool Street. Stansted airport is a short drive away and there is access to the A14 and A12 trunk roads.
