The Educational Supervisor: I qualified from Kings College London in 2006 with honours and since been developing my skills in general dentistry. I am very committed to postgraduate education and have completed numerous restorative and occlusion courses. I have also gained valuable hospital experience in my elective in South Africa and Oral Surgery house job in London. My main interests are NHS dentistry, dental implants and treatment planning for more comprehensive cases.
I have had a fantastic experience with Foundation Training so far and I want to share my passion for dentistry with new graduates. Being a FD is a daunting prospect and I wish to make it as enjoyable and rewarding as possible. I would hope my FD would complete the year feeling confident in general dentistry , whilst being ethical, caring and a great communicator plus team player. The team and myself will make every effort to support you and develop your dentistry to a high standard in a comfortable caring manner suited to you.
The Practice: North Hill Dental is a forward thinking developing dental practice with over 25 years of history. The property is grade II listed and has plenty of character. We have 4 surgeries, a dedicated tutorial room, fully computerised with Software of Excellence and digital radiographs and OPG machine. The practice is well equipped for most dental procedures including rotary endodontic, oral surgery, implants, restorative cases and we have a vast range of materials. In addition to this we have a SLR camera which can be used for case presentations and an intra-oral camera. We are a busy mixed practice with lovely patients who have been coming here for years. There is a range of dentistry that is required as we treat all ages and take on new patients. We have a young team who are caring and helpful individuals.

We aim to start the FD off gently until they feel ready to see more patients. The FD will be encouraged to practice all aspects of dentistry at their own speed.
The Area: The practice is situated in Colchester on North Hill, just off the high street. Being in a town centre there are numerous places to chose from for lunch. We are approximately 50 minutes drive from London up the A12 and the main train station is 10 minutes walk which takes 50 minutes to reach Liverpool Street. Moving up from London myself was a big change but I am delighted with area, the people, the lovely local villages and way of life. You will most certainly feel welcomed in Colchester.
Other Points of Interest: Plenty of affordable properties to rent should commuting not be an option. Transport links are good, being a commuter town to London. Local amenities are present as in most towns. There are local hospitals, an arts centre, theatre and health clubs all nearby. Good luck and above all make the most of your training year
