The Educational Supservisors: Payal Sharma-Birch grew up in Essex and trained to become a Dentist at Bart’s and the London Dental School where she graduated with honours in 2008. Payal obtained her postgraduate diplomas from both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and of Edinburgh while working as a Senior House officer in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
Payal is passionate about learning and teaching and in 2011 was appointed as Honorary clinical tutor at Bart’s and the London Dental School. She also regularly runs large group teaching on the East of England deanery. In 2014 Payal obtained her PGCert in Dental education from the University of Bedfordshire and was also appointed by the NHS Essex area team to triage Essex-wide oral surgery referrals.
In 2015 she obtained another appointment as clinical advisor to the General Dental Council. Payal is fully committed to providing high quality, minimally invasive, evidence-based dentistry for all ages and has a special interest in Oral surgery and Orthodontics. She is also an active member of the BDA Essex Young dentist committee and is in the process of reviving the BDA South Essex branch. 
Payal currently lives in London with her husband and cat. In her free time she enjoys skiing, surfing, traveling and hosting dinner parties.

Shahin Nazmjoo lived in Denmark and trained to become a Dentist at Penum University in Copenhagen where she graduated with honors in 2002.
Shahin had her foundational training and post graduations training in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery in Copenhagen. 
She moved to England  at the end of 2004 and started working in NHS dentistry in Essex for various years, also worked in surrey and London area.

shahin is committed to providing high quality and evidence-based dentistry for all ages and has a special interest in restorative dentistry , cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery. 

The Practice: Smile Impressions is a practice committed to providing gentle quality care, we put our patients at the centre of everything we do by becoming their partners in oral health and well being.

Over the past 18 months, our practice has undergone a complete refurbishment to become a fully computerised, modern welcoming facility.
There are 3 bright surgeries. The new surgery chairs include overhead LED light upgrades for optimal visualisation of the oral cavity. Each surgery is equipped with a digital x-ray system, digital radios, fibre-optic handpieces, intra and extra-oral cameras, as well as wall mounted TV monitors to aid in patient education and treatment planning. 
We have a large staff area with separate staff toilet which is fully equipped with computer access and reading materials i.e. books, magazines, dental journals.
Our team includes 4 dentists, 2 hygienists, an operations manager, a receptionist and 3 fully qualified experienced dental nurses. 
Our practice provides a wide variety of dental treatments including implants, facial rejuvenation, smile makeovers and short term orthodontics. We use high quality restorative materials and a rotary endo system. 
There is ample free parking available for patients and staff. The practice has regular social events, e.g. cocktail making masterclasses, Christmas circus ball.

The Area: Grays is the largest town in the borough of Thurrock, Essex, approx. 20miles east of central London.
There is significant ongoing development in the area e.g. the recent opening of the London Gateway port on the North bank of the River Thames in Thurrock and the approval of plans to build a new Thames crossing here. 
Grays has excellent transport links including the C2C Rail service which runs to London Fenchurch Street station to the West and Shoeburyness to the East. The practice is situated on a busy local parade of shops in North Grays just off the A13, very near to the M25 motorway. It is an easy (30min) commute to/from London and is against the traffic in both directions. Stansted airport is 40minutes away. London Southend airport is 30minutes away. The practice is 10minutes from Lakeside shopping centre  (This shopping centre, in addition to its’ retail parks, forms one of the largest shopping areas in a single location within Europe).
Blackshots leisure centre is across the road from the practice and allows access to a pool, gym, tennis courts and other sports clubs. The Bannatyne Health club is also easily accessible (a 5-7minute drive from the practice).

One of our dentists' Jon is currently completing his specialist training in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute, Katya is an Implant specialist and Mez has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and in particular smile makeovers.
We are a vibrant, friendly, supportive and fun team who are committed to creating a warm, happy environment for each other and our patients. 

We recently worked together to raise over £1500 for Cardiac risk in the Young (CRY)  by organising a charity clothes sale of Pixie Lott’s clothes (who is the patron of the charity CRY). A rewarding and enjoyable event for us as well as the local community.
